2021.12.01 12:49 rbangelbottoms Fashion and crypto? Can those two be combined?

The Meta Gala sounds like something out of Cyberpunk 2077 and the September 17 virtual event lived up to, well, a portion of that with digital avatars strutting around Grand Theft Auto-style in creations that would certainly grab the eye in the physical world.
Amid the skintight bodysuits, holographic ensembles and neon-lit gowns, there was something unexpected: a cross-draped suit in red and gold with khussas to boot, designed by New York-based Ravi Guru Singh. And the piece was auctioned for $3,600 after the event.
And then there is Faith. Faith Connexion is a worldwide fashion company with a French flare, founded in Paris in 2000, owned by new owners in 2014, and reacquired in 2020. A group of designers and artists dedicated to a fresh interpretation of fashion for rich millennials, delivering a 360-degree closet that embodies sleek rock, edgy glamour, and street couture in a modern mix-and-match approach.

2021.12.01 12:49 TasMicko Σε ποιες συναυλίες θα πάτε φέτος;

Αλλά υπάρχουν και άλλα πολλά ονόματα iggy pop, liam Gallagher, nick cave and the bad seeds, cigarettes after sex, muse, manowar, pet shop boys, whitesnake. Που πολύ θα ήθελα να δω μερικούς από αυτούς αλλά δυστυχώς δεν μου περισσεύουν

2021.12.01 12:49 Gay_Charlie It's really hard for me to enjoy a video game knowing that it has easy and assist modes.

This sounds masochistic and selfish however I can't help but feel the lost potential in a video game whenever I see multiple difficulty and assist options. I believe most games should have them because gaming is a wonderful source of entertainment that many people should enjoy however the overwhelming sense of diluted game design discourages me from enjoying them. I'm very conflicted with this because gaming has been a big part of my life since I started when I was a kid in the early 90s and I don't want to gaming getting compromised by accommodations. If I didn't like a game I simply wouldn't play it and I feel that a lot of people don't have enough willpower to do that. Perhaps this benefits me more so I don't have to feel obligated to play everything available or coming out and only stick to what I enjoy because I don't have the time that I used to have.

2021.12.01 12:49 stroduces How do you figure out distances?

This is the part of fantasy writing that I struggle with most is figuring out how far away my desitnations are. Usually what I've done is make a map, dot around all the locations in my world and create a scale. But then when it comes to writing it, I'm always struggling to think of how long it would feasibly take my characters to reach certain destinations.
For Horse back I tend to use below scale which I found online:

Then on foot, I guage by how far I could travel in a day. I've hiked 40 miles a day before for 3 days straight and was completely beat by the end and couldn't move for a week afterwards so I know that's how far I could go at a push (and assuming in fantasy, the characters have some form of stamina replenishing magic, this walking "cooldown" can potentially be evaded). But generally I try to keep at about 20 miles per day on foot (depending on terrain).
I haven't a clue about ship speeds, in my world I have what are described as "Rune-powered Engine Ships" which I might base the speeds similar to steam engine ships, so I still have to figure out those speeds.
I'm curious what methods other writers use, and what other fantastical modes of transport you've needed to consider? Dragonback or on the back of some enormous turtle, etc.
